Dr. Frank B. Sullivan Museum Exhibit
We Are Equal: The National Fraternal Society of the Deaf (NFSD)
Museum Announcement April 7, 2018
The Gallaudet University Museum now houses a specially-designed exhibit on The Story of the NFSD. Though this fraternal organization was formally dissolved in 2010, its legacy continues today in the form of a museum exhibit of two large professionally-made display panels (front / back sides) with sidebars, now occupying a one-floor section of the Museum; also, with various Frat memorabilia in glass-enclosed displays. This exhibit was paid for by the Dr. Frank B. Sullivan Memorial Foundation, Inc., and was unveiled at a special event by President Bobbi Cordano, the Gallaudet University Museum staff, and Board members during the October 2017 Homecoming events.
As many of Gallaudet’s alumni were in attendance during the 49th Charter Day event, the Sullivan Foundation and the university museum invited everyone to view the exhibition after the Charter Day brunch and awards program. Dr. Phil Bravin (Class of ’66) was the chief guest speaker.
